Marree

Marree
Marree is located at the starting points for the legendary Birdsville and Oodnadatta Tracks.

It is a small town, originally known as Hergott. Visitors can see many relics of its historic past including its Afghan camel-driver connections and its involvement with the now abandoned narrow gauge railway line to Alice Springs.

The Bubbler and Blanchcup Springs are among the best examples visitors can see of mound springs on the rim of the Great Artesian Basin, these are approximately 100kms west/north-west of Marree.
