William Creek

 William Creek
First settled in 1887, William Creek was originally a support station for camel drivers building the Overland Telegraph. It became a hotel in 1943 and is today classified as South Australia's smallest town, situated in the centre of Australia's largest cattle station, Anna Creek Station (23,000 square kms).

The World's first solar powered telephone was recently installed and tours to Lake Eyre North, the Mound Springs and the old Peake Telegraph Station can be arranged through the Hotel.

Transport to William Creek is available Monday and Thursday from Coober Pedy on the Mail Run.

4WD tours are also available from Coober Pedy including transport for Scenic Flights over Lake Eyre.
