Dog Registration
Dogs and Cats Online is the new South Australian microchip database that links to local Council dog and cat registration, control orders, accredited assistance dogs, racing greyhounds, and registered breeders. Users and owners have 24/7 access to their personal and dog and cat information.
As of 1 July 2018, all dogs and cats must be microchipped and the details entered onto Dogs and Cat Online. There are no fees to upload or update information onto Dogs and Cats Online.
Veterinary surgeons have access to directly enter procedure or exemption information onto Dogs and Cats Online, removing the need for owners to update their dog’s details to receive possible registration rebates and reducing the need to issue paper certificates that can get misplaced.
Owners will have continuing obligations to keep their details, plus the details of their dogs and cats, up to date on this new system.
