Have your say - Coober Pedy Service and Asset Review
A review of the District Council of Coober Pedy's municipal services and assets is currently underway to find ways for the Council to operate more efficiently and within its means.
What is the Service and Asset Review?
The Council was placed under administration in 2019 due to financial management challenges including high debt and ongoing budget deficits.
To return Coober Pedy to a locally elected Council, it needs to fund its own local services and infrastructure into the future.
That is why the South Australian Government is supporting this review to identify ways for the Council to operate within its financial means.
