Anti-Social Behaviour

. Anti-social behaviour in the town, particularly in Hutchison Street, continues to be of great community concern.

While all levels of government have some responsibility, the State Government has primary responsibility due to its law and order, health and alcohol control functions. The Council’s role is primarily one of advocacy. The Council wrote to the Premier in June of last year calling on the government to do a range of things. A response was finally received recently. A copy is attached for your information.

There is still a long way to go before the situation in Coober Pedy is acceptable. It is all about the implementation!
