Update on Community Awards
Council has decided to postpone the announcement of Community Awards rather than have them presented at this week’s Australia Day celebrations.
The reasons include that there were no nominations for certain categories and few for others (e.g., Citizen of the Year), and many people are out of town at present.
Council proposes to re-advertise for nominations and put in place Nomination Committees for each category, as well as ideally announcing them at a future larger event.
I will keep you posted.
